Ignoring the warning signs and making more pages.

im apparently obsessed with this game idea.

Waking up today, to the rare days/weeks that it's cold down here, with clair de lune playing, it feels like we're not quite in the frostpunk days proper but in the prelude lol. Times are getting rough in this here walled garden called the US of A, and every night spent doomscrolling inches me towards doing the same as my parents to emigrate. However, the realization that it's pretty much like this everywhere and that here, it's just more well-hidden with twenty catastrophies going on at the same time. The illusion of safety I suppose.

I have two rug commissions to do, my brain has been procrastinating them for too long. But first lmao, I want to make a projects page on here along with another page for a project idea, a game about being a dwarf in a lo-fi souls typa game. So I'll do that.

It's the day after thanksgiving here in our circles, felt the need to update my_arts page, or essentially my portfolio page really. Added in some things about tufting and traditional arts that i've made.

I'm wanting to update/make a page for the biggest project i'm working on, Big Beetle Bro's page. I felt it the itch page was enough but at this point i feel like it would be prudent to have a landing page for the game to show peeps. Making a social media video post seemed to get a bit of traction within my follows so why not.

Art Gallery & Big Beetle Bros. Adventure

Most recently, I've been submitting my paintings to art galleries, hoping to make some cash and also get more involved in the activities that the nearest city has to offer. First place to accept my art was a video game themed show, where I placed 3 types of prints and a No Man's Sky painting up. Got a few sales so that was pretty exciting!

I've been updating my ko-fi page and am trying to start including things like the unsold prints, in case someone wants to support by buying.

On the back of each print, I also made a block print of my Beetle game, and also made a promo post for anyone interested in my game. Surprising to me, it got quite a bit of traction so now I know that at the very least a few dozen peeps have shown interest. (Also, i got my first ko-fi donation via that video post!)

So I've been back on working for the Beetle game, and now that I have some eyes on it, I'm also thinking of making a proper page for it on here, in case someone wants to see what its about, sans video. It should come as no surprise but getting a bit of attention has helped on motivation for injecting motivation on the project; There's not much expectation from me on anyone who showed interest to actually buy my Beetle game, just the idea that someone saw what little I have of the game made so far and went, "Hell yeah", fills me with the kind of joy I've not experienced in a long time.

vr projects, typewriter and paintin'

my most recent game, soon to be filled with a few cool games!
August 27, 2025 || 11:50AM

to keep it short, i just published a new vr game for the 20 Games Challenge gamejam. Link to that here. Essentially a challenge to make 20 simple-ish games to practice your gamedev skills to be able to make stuff without needing a tutorial.

during a thrifting session with my partner, i found a functioning typewriter with a fresh ribbon and have been writing everything i can on it. super tactile and strange user UI that I'm not used to.

ive been taking a quick break from rug tufting and have been painting a whole lot more after a lot of encouragement from my partner and mother. also a couple of peeps are wanting to see my next one; gotta do it quick before all interest is gone.

i've also been super itching to make an image gallery that houses my paintings/artworks over the times in a museum fashion. for shits and giggles.

feel like ive been getting super into making vr stuff again, from passthrough arcade cabinets, to this most recent gamejam; I think figuring out a good html5 export toolchain for webxr stuff is making me feel like flash web browser gamedevs of yore... but with vr, or so id like to think lmao

i will say tho, my pc has been crashing a lot so im thinking its time to do a factory reset again. been thinking of doing a dual-boot typa thing but we'll see. until next time.

we art fightin'

most recently, at the behest of a pal, found a website, artfight.net and it seems pretty fun! glad to have caught it in time.

as far as i can tell, its like art trades, with a fun competitive backdrop to it. there's attacking and defending, points and teams. can't wait to start drawing some peep's oc's after what feels like 5 years of not really drawing much digital oc-like art.

i'm sure its by design but this is also perfect to make some art that can be used for a commision sheet/portfolio. two birds one stone boi.
